An inauguration ceremony of Combating Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CCSEC) was held in the conference room of SSS Head Office at 10.30 am on 5 June 2016. With the financial support from the European Union and technical assistance of Terre des Hommes (TdH)-Netherlands, the project is being implemented with a view to providing education, medical treatment, training for skill development and recreation to the helpless, destitute and trailing class children of the society. Society for Social Service (SSS), Social and Economic Enhancement Program (SEEP) and Breaking the Silence (BTS) have been working as partner organizations of the project.

Alhajj Sanwar Hossain, Honorable Member of Parliament of (Tangail-5) illuminated the ceremony as chief guest. Saleh Mohammed Tanvir (PPM), Superintendent of Police of Tangail District; Munira Sultana, Additional  Deputy Commissioner of Tangail and Alhajj Jamilur Rahman Miron, Mayor of Tangail Municipality were present there as special guests. Abdul Hamid Bhuiyan, Executive Director of SSS presided over the ceremony.

It is to be mentioned here that CCSEC project is a forty-two months consortium initiative of Terre des Hommes-Netherlands (TdH-NL) which was set off on January 1, 2016 and will be closed on June 30, 2019. Funded by the European Union, CCSEC consortium aims to combat commercial sexual exploitation of children in Bangladesh. With technical support of TdH-NL Bangladesh, the project has been partnered with Social and Economic Enhancement Program (SEEP), Society for Social Services (SSS) and Breaking the Silence (BTS) for running the project at Dhaka North City Corporation and Tangail Sadar Upazilla, Tangail district. Of those partners, SEEP serves the Secretariat role to implement CCSEC and set up two Drop in Centers for children exposed to CSEC and at risk children as well as works to make the children mainstreamed in society. Breaking the Silence (BTS) provides psychosocial care to the survivor children exposed to CCSEC and at risk. Moreover, Society for Social Services (SSS) runs a full-fledged shelter home for the children and works for their dignified lives by providing them comprehensive holistic care.
